What to Do and Where to Go

Florence - Public transport is the best way to get in and out of Florence from Antella as  parking is extremely expensive and most of the historic center is now closed to traffic.

** we recommend strongly that you book your museum visits ahead of time.. that way no lines (often over three hours for the Uffizi and Accademia).  It costs more, but unless you have lots of free time, it's worth it.

Out and about in Tuscany - a rental car is the best way for you to explore Tuscany. However, there is regular bus and train service from Florence to most major cities of interest.

To see Tuscany, you need a couple of weeks at least...but for a ‘taste of Tuscany' we recommend that you check out 'Vieri's guide' and websites. We are five minutes from the A-1 Firenze Sud exit which will take you south to Arezzo and Rome, north towards Milano and to the major highway for Siena and points south and to A-11 for Lucca, Pisa and other points west.

We are also just a half an hour from the airport.

Chianti - we are about a mile from the Via Chiantigiana (the original road from Florence to Siena through Chianti). Off this main route there are innumerable roads (both asphalt and dirt) leading to ancient parish churches, castles, and farms just inviting you to turn left or right and explore! Winetasting and local artisan products abound in every village and are an absolute must to try.
